Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria

The Canaries or the Canary Islands as they are also well known as can be found in the Atlantic Ocean off the north western coast of Africa.

Not many know but there are actually 13 Islands that make up the Canaries. The main islands offering Canary Island holidays are Tenerife, which is the biggest of the Canary Islands, Grand Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, La Palma and La Gomera.

Due to the location of the Canaries its subtropical climate means you can get year round sunshine with hot sunny summers and lovely warm winters. This is one of the many reasons why people visit these Islands for their summer and winter breaks year after year.

The Canaries offer something for all types of holiday makers, from those looking for a relaxing, quiet break to those wanting something a little more lively. The Islands also offer a very diverse range of accommodation to suit all budgets. This again is why the Canaries are so popular because you can find 5* luxury hotels, apartments and villas down to cheaper options for travellers on a budget.

Each of the Canary Islands has its own unique features from volcanoes, mountains, forests, golden sandy beaches, black volcanic sand beaches, impressive white sand dunes and clear waters. You are never short of things to see and do in the Canary Islands. Water sports are offered on most of the Islands, walking through fantastic scenery, camel rides up the side of a volcano, chilling out on some of the most beautiful beaches to dancing the night away can all be done whilst taking your holiday on one of the Canary Islands.
